This is an obligatory place to see during the visit in Warsaw. It was founded at the turn of the XIII century, and its streets made a regular "chessboard like" pattern. Destroyed during World War II, it was reconstructed in full. Its medieval structure was preserved. Romantic backstreets sloping down to the river and stylish cafés oozing background music are perfect places for a break from sightseeing.

Former kings’ residence was destroyed during World War II and was rebuilt in the early Baroque style. Today it performs representative, national and cultural functions, inviting visitors to Royal Apartments, Courtier Rooms, Sejm Halls and art galleries.

  • Royal Lazienki
The park, surrounding the Palace complex, combines elements of French garden with those of English park. It took almost 30 years to build this summer residence of the King, with parks and buildings, on the area of around 80 hectares. Today, it is one of the most beautiful complexes of this kind in Europe.
  • Wilanow
The Palace, together with the garden, constitutes one of the most precious monuments of Polish baroque. Its unique value lies in the original architecture and in preserved decorations (paintings and sculptures) of the elevation, as well as of the interior.
